For the health and safety of our community members, the Bartholomew County Substance Abuse Council has made the decision to cancel the 2020 Desperate Household Conference. We are excited to start planning for the 2021 conference. Please look for details at a later date.
BCSAC Annual Conference
Desperate Households is the annual conference hosted by Bartholomew County Substance Abuse Council each October. This is a public event and there is no charge to attend.
The Bartholomew County Substance Abuse Council thanks Dr. Matt Bellace, The keynote speaker for the 2019 Desperate Households Conference.
Dr. Bellace has been traveling the country since 1995 as a professional speaker and stand-up comedian. His programs encourage students and adults to purse natural highs and be resilient in the face of stress. Dr. Bellace has his PhD in clinical neuropsychology and trained at both the National Institutes of Mental Health and the traumatic brain and spinal cord injury units of Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. He is the author of the book “A Better High”, contributing author for National Geographic Kids, and was a recurring comedian on truTV’s “World’s Dumbest”. The Bartholomew County Substance Abuse Council would also like to congratulate Larry Perkinson who was awarded the Larry Perkinson Community Voice Award named in his honor. This award will be given each year to an organization or community member who has demonstrated dedication to the mission of the Bartholomew County Substance Abuse Council.
